LCA’s Adult Day Reporting Center (Alameda)
Alameda County Probation Day Reporting Center
The Annex at 400 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94607
LCA’s DRC in Alameda has been created in partnership with Alameda County Probation Department to serve the comprehensive needs of probationers and the emerging realignment population. The facility will open in early 2015.
Parolees and probationers face many challenges and obstacles upon release from custody – statistics show they face a high rate of recidivism without effective, immediate intervention. LCA’s ADRC in Alameda meets these needs to assist clients with a smooth transition back into their communities. Through the LCA program at the Alameda DRC, clients receive treatment, training, and individualized services. DRC programs cut crime, cut costs and build communities.
LCA’s DRC programs assist counties with recidivism reduction and thereby improve public safety. Evidence-based research indicates that addressing risks and needs of offenders on an individualized basis results in significant crime reduction.
Effective alternatives to incarceration and community-based programming save money and make better use of limited resources by establishing a more coordinated and comprehensive continuum of care and supervision. Even small reductions in recidivism rates will generate substantial cost-savings by avoiding more costly incarceration. DRC programs operate at a fraction of the cost of a prison bed.
LCA is committed to strengthening the connection between community and individuals. DRC programs allow clients to remain part of the workforce, to be parents, and to play a role in strengthening the fabric of their families and neighborhoods. Tens of thousands of community service hours are performed each year by these clients, resulting in savings to the community of hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
